Professor Xiaoguang Lei Attended the Unveiling Ceremony of the New Cornerstone Science Laboratory at Peking University

On April 13, 2026, the unveiling ceremony for the “New Cornerstone Science Laboratory” of Peking University was held. Professor Xiaoguang Lei attended the event as a New Cornerstone Investigator. Previously, on November 24, 2025, the list of awardees for the third cohort of the New Cornerstone Investigator Program was announced, and Professor Lei was selected in the field of Mathematics and Physical Sciences, with funding support in Chemistry. Under this support, Professor Lei will carry out transformative research on natural products through an interdisciplinary approach, with a focus on plant-derived natural products, aiming to elucidate their complex biosynthetic pathways, clarify their endogenous biological functions, and uncover the mechanisms by which they act as mediators of chemical communication among organisms.
